About

There were always separate tracks.

I worked with wood by doing carpentry.

I worked with metal via welding.

For many years painting was my main artistic expression with music-making interludes.

The carpentry got more decorative elements as I evolved and naturally led into sculpting.

Sculpting with welding techniques had not occurred to me before I encountered the work of Patrice Hubert, which blew my mind wide open.

It was only a matter of time before sculpting in wood and sculpting in metal would join forces.

There’s a progressive narrowing of the separation between the mediums.

Follow my progress to see where it leads.

Some artists find what works for them and then keep doing that over and over.

If that was the only option, I’m not sure I’d be an artist.

There is always a next step, a progression, a new angle of approach. It’s the search, the exploration, that inspires me.

To express something I haven’t before. To figure out how to do something that I haven’t tried yet. To challenge myself, attuned to the level of challenge that I’m ready for.
